About
My goal in building this practice has been to offer services that integrate physical and mental health with a focus on building resilience. This is an approach that can help people develop a growth mindset, build inner strength and flexibility, and increase self-awareness. I utilized evidence-evidence based approaches to mental health counseling which are based on peer-reviewed scientific studies and tailored to specific treatment conditions.
I have over 20 years of clinical experience across a variety of settings including structured outpatient programs, private practice, and crisis intervention. I have directed treatment programs in both the public and private sectors and taught graduate level counseling at Augusta State University. I work with adults and adolescents in the areas of anxiety and mood disorders, substance abuse, and trauma. I emphasize a holistic approach to treatment which focuses on evidence-based therapies, mindfulness strategies, and attention to physical and emotional well-being. Many of my clients also seek therapy to improve relationships, work on personal growth, and adjust to life changes. In addition to mental health counseling, I also work with athletes at multiple levels in optimizing mental performance, from high school sports to the professional level. I completed my Master's Degree in Counseling from Augusta State University and Doctorate in Education from Georgia Southern University. I also provide supervision for counselors working on full licensure in the State of Georgia. I am licensed in both Colorado and Georgia.
