Mental Performance Training

Mental skills training is a combination of techniques and practice to help athletes develop mental toughness, emotional control, and increase motivation.  Mental Performance Training teaches individuals specific mental skills and strategies to develop confidence, manage performance anxiety, improve focus, and learn how to cope with the challenges of being a competitive athlete.   These skills are also applicable to business leaders, law enforcement personnel, and other high-performance professions.  

Dr. Edmonds is a lifelong athlete who understands the importance of developing and maintaining mental strategies to maintain peak physical performance.  He has worked with high school and collegiate athletes, coaches, business leaders, and a top ranked professional boxer.   For young athletes, boosting mental toughness has been shown to improve self-esteem, optimism, and self-efficacy, setting the foundation for success in all areas of life. The skills learned in this program include visualization techniques, resilience, mindfulness training, stress management, motivation enhancement, cognitive restructuring, growth mindset, and goal setting.
